and it's officially the most disconnected I've felt from a Hoosier team since Jay Edwards played. The reason? I can't watch the games at home. This is probably the coolest/best team on paper in 13+ years and I can't even watch them from my sage green couch. Why on earth would I want to go to a bar on a Monday night? Honestly, that sounds like one of the last things I want to do right now. Especially after just getting back from a long weekend in Windsor. My friend, Searsay summed it up best when he said, "I think I have jet lag and I wasn't even on a plane!"
I won't even try and top that one. It sums it up. Not to sound like Harry Dunne, but this Big Ten Network thing is really chapping my ass. I don't want to seem like a complainer, but I end up spending $10 or more, because I have to buy food just to watch the game. I won't be doing any beers on games like these, but I can't promise that I won't if it's a Wednesday/Thursday game. We're talking a minimum of $15-20 if that's the case. Take that $15 minimum times the 17 games on the Network and you get.....$255! Woohoo! That's more than two cable bills! I could hypothetically spend that at a strip club in a city across the river from Detroit.
Hopefully the Hoosiers get bucket week off to a good start and hopefully McGilvery's gets my week off to a hot start with some loaded nachos! I'll fill you in on how they are. Any thoughts on a high school basketball blog?
